I am a 31 year old female that has been diagnosed with depression almost a year ago. My doctor prescribed cymbalta which has helped wonders. About 5 months ago, I had my last period. Doctor ran blood which showed I had a slight hyperthyroid issue. Symptoms included, absent menses, elevated blood pressure and pulse, exhaustion, insomnia, weight gain, elevated temp, hot flashes, moodiness. I had an uptake scan which showed thyroiditis- swelling- but did not give an answer for the absent menstrual cycle. I was then scheduled for a vaginal ultrasound of the uterus etc to make sure all was ok there. It showed the lining was thicker than usual, so I am now on progesterin to help jump start my menstrual cycle. I can't sleep, so I take ambien, oh and to help the thyroid issue, im on an anti thyroid medication. The last several days I have done things that I have no recollection of. Serious things. also, I've had muscle twitching that seem to be worsening... any suggestions? I feel like I'm losing my mind. They also tested for menopausal hormones which were absent. It is just a hormonal imbalance? Is there something more natural that I could do other than all this prescription medication?
