It is probably adult onset acne, or a hormonal imbalance. There are some good products on the market. Your doctor/dermatologist can prescribe something for you.

Okay! I had acne too myself! And i know EXCACTLY how you feel! First what you need to do is get a Dermatologist. Then ask him/her about acutane. This is the only proven antibiotic than can clear any type of acne on any part of your body and keep it clear for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!! Im on it right know and its working great! But it does have some side effects such as-- you should not get pregnant because it can cause serious birth defects andother minor effect! Ask your doctor!!

adult acne
Thank you for your advice! I have a co-worker who is on acutane and loves it as well!!! Unfortunatly i am not eligable to use the product for a couple of years.......... i am nine months pregnant and i am planning to breast feed for a year or so. Then me and my husband would like to get pregnant again when i stop breastfeeding.... So acutane wont be a option for me for another couple of years. I am however looking forward to using acutane when the time is right.... If my face does not clear up.

It just might clear up after you have the baby. Usually women's skin gets radiant when they are pregnant. Yours might just be doing the opposite.

Hi holmesbrittney. First of all English is not my first language so I apologize for any mistakes and incorrect grammer. All useful advise presented here. I want to share the following with you. I am absolutely not an expert on acne but I have done a lot of research on the Internet. My girlfriend is going through a similar phase as you. Although she is not pregnant she has been breaking out with acne for the last 4 years and she is now 38. She too had flawless skin during her younger years. She tried just about every product out there but nothing seemed to help. She has bad acne on both her cheeks. Somehow the acne on her forehead disappeared but the ones on her cheek persist. Recently I joined the ehealth forum to get some advise which may help her in her struggle to combat the acne. One good advice I got from this forum and shared with her seems to be helping. She started using this method about two weeks ago and we are seeing improvements. Your acne may be hormonal and that is what I thought of my GF as well. She started taking natural hormonal balancing remedies sometime ago. They seemed to help with her hormonal imbalance but the acne did not go away. We concluded it was not due to her hormonal imbalance. Sometimes in desperation one does not know anymore what to think and we start looking at all possible scenarios. However we tend to forget or overlook the most basic possibilities. We are what we eat. A member of this site advised to drink lots of water. Better yet to drink sea salt with water. Not your regular table salt since that has been stripped of many essential minerals. You can see the whole thread under "Bad adult acne" on this forum. I personnaly drink a lot of water to the extend that my GF complained that I am always drinking water. Now she drink eight or more glasses a day. On the 5th day she started seeing whitehead and the bacterial stuff came out. She has very tight pores which allows bacteria to breed under her skin. She has been going almost everyday to the beach. This also aided in deminishing her acne. If you can go to the beach please avoid the sun. Finally I have read about the benefits of using diluted 35% food grade hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in combating acne. Don't use the 3% hydrogen peroxide meant for open sores. That has more chemicals added to it to give it a better shelf life. You need to add sufficient destilled water to the 35% food grade H2O2 to dilute it to 3%. Follow the instructions on the bottle. You can also find advise online. The idea is that once the H2O2 comes in contact with the bacteria the oxygen is released and this will kill the bacteria. You can use a cotton swap to dap the acne once a day. It tends to dry your skin so you need to determine if you will hold back for a day or two. You can use a moisturizer after you apply the H2O2. I hope this information is useful to you. Kind regards and cheers.
