I think I am just about to start menopause. I am 49. My periods have been more irregular than usual for the past year (however, they have been irregular my whole life to a certain degree). But a major difference I have noticed in the past year is that my hormones are NO LONGER raging. Since I was a teenager, I have always felt like my hormones were on speed. I got regular migraines during and not during my periods. But hormonally-speaking I have been feeling tons better during the past year. Why might this be? I don't see anything on the Internet about this sort of experience. Every article talks about feeling worse during menopause.

You are right in your assumption...We women learn to grow older fearing aging...The word "Menopause" alarms us...It is the new unknown place in life that we will be visiting...It tells us that we are now growing old and sexually we will be pretty much dead....But what happens when we get to this age and sail through it...Sex becomes wilder and the older matron loses her years and again turns into a young woman...She now find that she has no age...That there is nothing written about this in the books of life...So we write a new book ourselves....We have the time of our life and do all the things in life that we ever wanted to do...Even some that we invent along the way....

In summary: The tiger has left her cage......

Take care,

Caroline

Its different for everyone. I know that for me I feel awful just before and during my periods. I get the migraines, nausea, bloating, cramping, moodiness...the whole works. I cant wait for menopause. Think about it, if no period is coming none of the symptoms that go along with it are coming either. This is possibly why your feeling better...
