Menopause Answer A6305

If your periods have already stopped (according to what you reported: menopause, only get a period when on pill), then your body does not produce enough adequate hormones that are needed for pregnancy. There are many pills that contain hormones and are used to regulate the menstrual cycle, the menstrual period, or are used as birth control pills. However, the hormones they contain are not released in the same specific pattern as the body produces them, and they are usually forbidden for use in case of pregnancy.

So, if what you reported is true, then there is no way for you to get pregnant. However, the hormones are needed only for the pregnancy. And you can still have a child from you and your husband if your body produces healthy eggs which might be in vitro fertilized with your husband’s sperm and then inserted into a surrogate mother.
