I just switched from Yaz to Ortho cyclen. My sex drive seems to have increased quite a bit....thank goodness. I didn't have one at all when I was on Yaz. Does anyone know if it will remain or if I will go back to not having one once my body gets used to the ortho cyclen? I like having a sex drive and my DH certainly does.

Yaz and Ortho-cyclen contain the same estrogen component and different progesterone component.
There are some reports that libido decreasing (frigidity) occurred while using birth control pills but there aren't any scientific evidences that synthetic hormones inside the pills can cause frigidity.
I believe that both options are possible. Birth control pills can increase the sex drive (libido) because women feel safer while using birth control pills. Birth control pills can also decrease the sex drive indirectly by causing depression in some women. There are evidences that birth control pills can cause depression.
What was your sex drive before start using birth control pills?
