The condition you mentioned (regular menstrual period for five days, and another bleeding after four days break) might be related to a hormonal imbalance.
The beginning of the menstrual period is determined with severe changes in the blood levels of certain female sex hormones. During the menstrual period, the inner lining of the uterus detaches. From the very start of the menstrual period the hormones start to rise again, but if they unexpectedly fluctuate and the detachment was incomplete then another bleeding, usually lighter than normal, might occur.
Please note that hormonal imbalances are considered normal in younger girls in their first years after the menarche (the first menstrual period), due to insufficient hormonal production and proper hormonal control.
