This month it didn't even last 24 hours wand was very light. i had a pap smear and it came back abnormal but the dr said that should be messing with my period. i was wondering what could be going on? i've taken a hpt and it came back negative. could my medications be giving me a false negative? i would just like some suggestions on what it could be and what i could do.

Menstruation Answer A6369

According to the data you provided, you might be experiencing a hormonal imbalance. Whether this imbalance is pathological can not be told without additional tests: a physical examination, laboratory hormone tests, and a pelvic ultrasound.

The recommended treatment would depend on the results from the tests.
In the end, it might be only a normal hormonal fluctuation. However, if it repeats during the next period it is recommended to visit your gynecologist.
