Hallo,
I am 16 weeks 3 days pregnant. I few days ago I had an ultrasound which showed that everything is good. The problem is that near a year ago I had some analysis that showed homozygous mutation C677T in MTHFR gene, something like that. I visited blood doctor with this analysis and he told me that I do not have anything to worry about. A few days ago my gynecologist called me and told that this gene I have can cause complications in development of fetus and asked me to come for one more ultrasound in 10 days to check how fetus is developing. To tell the truth I am very worried now that it really can cause some abnormalities with my baby, although all the tests for down syndrom and all analysis were good. I can“t wait for 10 days, I am becoming crazy of the thought that suddenly sth could happen. Is it possible that this gene could cause defects in my baby? Does everybody with such gene problem has sick babies?
thnks
