First of all, I want to tell you I am very sorry for your loss. The pain of losing a child, born or not yet born, is immense. I hope that in time, your pain may lessen, although, as all of us who have lost a little one, know it never goes away.
There are actually quite a few different types of MTHFR.
There is no treatment for it, only management. Some doctors recommend heparin before conceiving, others will administer it during pregnancy. When taking heparin, you should also take extra supplements of vitamin D and calcium to prevent bone density loss. Also be aware that there is risk of heavier bleeding if injured, such as a cut or bruise. Neevo DHA and Mentax (Mentax is prescribed by your doctor) are EXCELLENT prenatal vitamins/supplements for MTHFR patients that contain easier-metabolized folic acids (MTHFR patients have trouble metabolizing folic acid, a vitamin ESSENTIAL to proper neural tube, brain, and other organ system development in the fetus).
The vitamins WILL not do the trick alone. The vitamins are designed to ensure your fetus gets the appropriate level of minerals in order to develop properly.
With MTHFR, baby aspirin is a MUST, as it helps with decreasing the chances of stroke or thrombosis due to your condition. Vitamins do not help with this.
Speak with your doctor/OB/specialist to make a plan and medicine routine best suited for you.

MTHFR
I have the MTHFR mutation 677T and A1298C. I have lost 2 babies in the past 2 1/2 years. I am equally confused about the MTHFR diagnosis. I take pre-natal vitamins, about 5 mgs of folic acid, and a baby aspirin every day. I have read a lot of posts about heparin but my doctors have not mentioned this to me at all, simply the high dose folic acid. I was not even told about the baby aspirin by my doctor; I started it based on the posts. Any additional info is helpful!
