Q: HIV transmission through razor ?

Hello everyone,

I went to a barber's to have my hair cut. After finishing, I heard the barber told his assistant that he had carelessly cut his finger by the razor he used for my face.

I remembered that I had tried to remove my acne on my face about 15 minutes before and while I was removing my acne, there was some blood around the acne.

I am very nervous that whether I am likely to be HIV infected. Please help me. I thank you all very much.

My worry is to do with the fact that you had an open wound (removed acne).

HIV dies 30 seconds to a minute after it leaves the body. But if it is leaving one body for another, then transmission is possible.

It is probable that the acne had healed over and the blood did not find a way in. In that case there is nothing to worry about.

If you are worried, please wait 3 months and do a blood test. While you are there, you might as well get checked for hepatitis C. Another blood borne disease.

All the best
