I had sexual intercourse about 3 months ago with a guy who I think might be HIV postive.Im not for sure if he is or not I asked him and he said no but he lies about things.I recently found out that he did heavy drugs. I've been having HIV symptoms like headaches, swollen lymph nodes and nausea. My question is if I got the blood work done 2 weeks from now would it show up postive if I did have HIV? I know that sometimes it takes anywhere from 6 months-1 year to show up. Should I get it done anyway in 2 weeks or wait?

yes, do it now. 3 months is about the right amount of time. Listen, if it comes back positive for HIV I want you to remain calm. It doesn't mean you are going to die. I have had friends with HIV who have been positive for over 30 years so don't panic if you are positive. I have had AIDS for many years and am doing great, no worries. Please let me know how it goes. Good Luck. I will be thinking of you.

Thank you,I am praying I hope I don't espically since I don't have medical insurance and I know medication for HIV can get expensive. It would just ruin my life. But it is the price I would have to pay for my dumb actions.

where do you live? lots of places have free doc and meds for HIV/AIDS ...it will be OK, my friend...take a deep breath and try to put it out of your mind until you can get tested...you are more than likely fine.
