I had a risky encounter (well risky by paranoia standards) 6 months back. I waited for the long window period to get as accurate a test as possible and avoid false negatives. I have also abstained for the past 6 moths.

I walked into a hospital and got a test yesterday. The results say "anti-bodies to HIV - Non Reactive" with a reading of 0.274. The report classifies values within 0.9-0.99 as intermediate and values greater than 1 as reactive.

Now this is a MEIA test while I asked for a ELISA and and receipt says "Test for HIV I&II ELISA". AFAIK Elisa test takes a few days to 2 weeks to test. I got my test results within 24 hours of the test. I have visited the premier hospital in my city.

Am not sure . . . is it time for me to breather easy. . . or is there any other test I should go for. Have turned into quite a hypochondriac since the encounter. however i have objective managed to determine that I have had no symptoms in the past 6 months which would be construed as HIV related. As such no high fevers flu like conditions, rashes or swelling etc

Your help would be highly appreciated and relieve me of great tension and depression.
Thanks.

I believe i have been infected with HIV-I through food as I got sick after having the Salad Prepared by my cook as she cut her fingers while cutting cucumber for salad and accidentally i ate the same and i and I came to know later that she is a HIV patient. As I approached my Family Doctor who advised me for testing the Elisa-1 & II and CD4 Counts. The result came as Positive and the CD4 count Tests have been done 3 times since the detection of HIV which are given below:
Initially the CD4 Count was 21 (absolute counts: 594)in August 2011 and in November,2011, it dropped to 18 (absolute count : 576)and now in April,2012 it has increased to 19 with absolute counts to 632. My doctor advised me to monitor the same and has not advised any treatment. But I am worried, whether I will be able to recover fully with any Ayurvedic Treatment. Please advise.Regards shivss
