Q: HIV Swollen lymph nodes

Hi everyone,

Just a quick question. When one refers to swollen lymph nodes as being a common symptom of a HIV infection, I'm a little confused regarding its definition.

How do swollen glands resulting from HIV look like? In other words, how swollen do they have to be to be considered swollen?

I tried to look for pictures on google but I was fairly unsuccessful. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hey Reform.
I used to have a daughter who had swollen lymph nodes at the back of her neck. They were visible. Her doctor asked me if I knew what that was and assuming he was talking about HIV, I said yes. My daughter later on died of a penicillin reaction. I had tested positive for HIV when she was about to turn three years old. I never had her tested but the lymph nodes were visible.

Another way to tell is mbae feeling the lymph node. Mbae touch.

Don't overwhelm yourself with information on the Internet too much. Not everybody is right you know. Wink

All the best to you.

Get tested. A lot of people on the internet may not be professional and suggest different things. To the hospital for you.
