Q: HIV Positive?

Hi I have a few symptoms that I think sound like HIV. Please help me out here:

I have what is called facial muscle wasting, meaning my temples and below my cheekbones are very sunken in.

I have chronic headaches and fatigue.

I have blurred, and double vision followed by dizzy spells.

I have a loss of appetite.

Dry mouth and skin peeling on the inside of my mouth.

Oh and my son who is 17 months old has swollen lymph nodes and has difficulty gaining weight.

I tested about 9 months ago and it was negative but I have been having these symptoms for about 17 months now(the same time I had my son). My doctor even said that my symptoms sound like it but since my test was negative 9 months ago he automatically crossed HIV off the list. Could there be a possibility that I could still have it? and does this sound like HIV?

It could be a number of things.Why isn't your doctor more pro active in finding the cause of this? Go to another doctor,tell them your symptoms and that you are wanting a second opinion and have them test you for all that they think you need ..

I have actually been to 3 doctors. They all think that it is probably just because of the stress of pregnancy. They dont know what tests to run on me. They think all my symptoms are realitively normal and that my sons swollen lymph nodes are normal. I have never seen anyone go through pregnancy and then have a sunken in face afterwards. I also dont see toddlers walking around with grape sized lymph nodes either. Im stumped as to what to do.

Hummm...

3 doctors...I'm stumped...they have done HIV tests and they came back negative for you and your child..I wish I had an answer for you...have you gone to the Pregnancy forums here and stress forums maybe? I am so sorry I cant help with an answer for you. If the doctors don't know what test to run on you then I am stumped.I would think they would run every test imaginable to find out what is going on.It could even be something in your house that is making you both ill..Dont give up.Your child is depending on you.You have to keep searching for the cause of all this.Check out the other forums on this site,ask around all over here and maybe you will find the answer.My expertise is in HIV/AIDS and I don't know much about children or what you may be going threw if it isn't HIV.I am truly sorry that I am not of better service to you. Surf this site and put your problems out on several threads and forums.Surly some one will have the answer.Good luck.Your in my thoughts and prayers.

Make them test again the test 9 months ago may have been wrong!!! and the doctor should double check for you although you would have been tested whilst pregnant too wouldnt you?
