Ok so i had vaginal intercourse on the 1st of april and the condom split inside a girl of unknown status. I know she sleeps about but she hasnt been diagnosed with it but is at very hish risk due to lots of unprotected sex with partners and oral.
2 days after exposure i feel slightly ill at work but this then goes within a couple hours.
1 week after exposure i start feeling unwell and feeling cold when its not cold. i also feel my groin area shaking/shivering
2 weeks i develop swollen glands and start feeling drowsy with aches and pains assosciated
on the 3rd i start developing a pimple like rash on the chest and a few on the neck which is pinkish in colour and gos away and comes back even til today, blocked nose, acne on the face (which i never had before) and headaches. i also suffer from hayfever
now i only experience muscle spasms (all over) the rash and still swollen glands and it is now the 12th week since exposure
the girl i ahd slept with also supposingly had fever, sore throat and headaches but i know i cannot of caught the flu off her due to me not getting close enough to of caught it.
i have been tested numerous times at the nhs gum clinic

3 weeks 21 april- negative
4 weeks 28 april - negative
9 weeks 3rd june - negative

i got the girl tested on the 19th of may and the results came back the other day as negative due to her nurse being away on vacation

i don't know whether they was 3rd generation or 4th but i know my area is quite updated in the uk and has high standards

pleasee help me what does this sound like i;m very confused as i know if it was hiv it should of shown up i've been very depressed from day 1 and had suicidal thoughts etc i need some help and advice can you please help!!!!! i dont want to go for another test
:'( :'(

I always say I don't know about these rapid tests. Even though you don't want to go for another test, you might have to. Blood test. At three months since exposure and again after another three months.

My suggestion is that you also take an STD test.

Stress is likely to bring out some of the symptoms you have mentioned.

All the best.

I have moved this to anxiety and stress as you are negative for HIV and your symptoms are related to stress and anxiety and not STD or HIV or AIDS

Herpes can cause swollen glands and flu like symptoms. Are your glands swollen in your groin?

they were but i haven't had any lesions/sores so that'd rule out herpes theyre mostly swollen in neck

You dont necessarly need to brake out in lesions. I just had a friend that was diagnose with herpes and she still hasnt had a break out. My best bet is just to go get a blood test.

I agree with Flora. With genital herpes you don't always have to have a breakout on your genital area. That first initial breakout does come with horrible flu like symptoms.

well hiv tests can be negative for up to 7 yrs after the exposure so keep getting tested.. also i would get tested for stds just to rule them out.. i dont really think that either of these conditions is wrong with you.. You do have a lot of symptoms of mono though..? Mb its that..

had bloods done. no mono or anything else and i kno wmyself hiv definately does not take 7 years as 3months is conclusive. plus if it was herpes would my neck glands be swollen or just the glands in the groin??

When you get a bad herpes breakout it can effect your entire body. It feels like a horrible flu, so yes your neck glands can be swollen but you had blood work done and you said they didn't find anything. Maybe it was just a flu bug or anxiety.

yeh i had blood work done but i'm aware they don't routinely test for herpes? when i went for bloods at my doctors they said that all my fighting cells/whiteblood cells seem to be normal. tbh i'm just getting fed up it's as if i've got an invisible disease which isn't showing up yet :[

good point but it isnt HIV/AIDS...maybe you need to see a different doctor. I am sorry your not getting the answers you need.

when i post on other forums though they tell me it still could be as i haven't had a conclusive test and the girl could of been within the window period.
from your experiences does it look like hiv to you?
i'd just like to say i did get thrush from this girl aswell which was hard to get rid of and i've never had it before?? my doctor just thinks i'm crazy and having anxiety

I think you've let your fear get the best of you. Try to find some other activity to keep your mind busy and eventually you will begin to feel better.

i know fear contributes but it's mostly the symptoms which i'm concerned about. i try forget about it but it's my constant symptoms which just bring it back up to mind. thanks for the help though!

I hate to say this but thrush was my first symptom...you have to get a conclusive test! Perioid! Even if you do end up having HIV it doesnt mean life is over..I have it and have known people who have had it for over 25 years and never been sick.As long as you take the medicine prescribed it wont kill you or even make you ill...eat right and exercise and taking your meds as prescribed will keep you healthy as any one else...but I am getting ahead of myself...
Go to the free clinic in your town and get tested there...if it has been 3 months since possible exposure then get to the clinic and have them test you anonymously. If that test comes back negative for HIV then rule it out. If you keep getting tested for HIV when it isn't then you are beating your head against a brick wall and the real cause of all this is going unanswered...

my doctor seems to think shes 100% sure it isn't hiv as she rang the hiv specialist and he said 2 months is definate and i require no mroe testing. she even said she will not test me no more as it will be a waste of useful resources so i don't know what to do tbh

go to a different doctor or a clinic...the waiting period is 3 months, not 2.You need a second opinion and another test so you can rule it out 100%
