Q: HIV from Rapid HIV test ?

Dear doctor,

I want to disturb you with a question, because I'm a little worried about getting infected with HIV when doing a rapid hiv test.

My fear is the following : I went to the clinic to do a test and the nurse pricked my finger with a needle, then she pressed / squeezed my finger for the blood to come out without wearing gloves.

So my worry is lets say that she was infected with hiv and she had a wound on her finger that she used to squeeze mine for the blood to come out, could she infect me with hiv through the tiny little hole on my finger were she pricked me ?

I hope my question is not stranged, but that is what is worrying me and I hope to hear soon from you.

Thanks in advance

Regards.

I am not a doctor but I can answer your question.

When you bleed, you bleed out. Nothing goes into you when you are bleeding.

If the nurse had a wound, it would have to be an open wound bleeding and all. But remember that nothing can get into you while you are bleeding out. I hope you understand what I am saying. I see no risk here.
