I recently got a massage from Hong Konk
Lucky Massage. Although my massage didn't
have a happy ending I am a bit worried.
During the course of the massage the
masseuse popped a pimple on my back. I am
wondering if it was possible to get HIV if
she had a cut on her hand. I am not sure
what type of massage lotion she was using
but if it was germ killing would that kill
HIV? Is this a possible HIV transmission
if she had a cut on her hand?

If she had a cut on her hand and it went
over your open wound then yes it is.
Things like bleach kill HIV massage
lotions will not. It is very highly
unlikely that she infected you with
anything. Things like sharing toothbrushes
with someone if you both have a minute cut
in your mouth and one party is infected
they can infect the other. Contact like
this is possible but highly unlikely.

daversd, worriedauzzi is incorrect. You
can NOT get it from toothbrushes, etc. HIV
dies when exposed to air.

There has to be an open cut for HIV to
occur. The pimple was popped out so
nothing went in. It is like when you
bleed, you bleed out so nothing is going
in. If the cut is a scab, what I mean is
if it is healing over, it is not a risk.
HIV dies seconds after it hits the air.
I don't think the masseuse would have been
able to give you a massage with a cut on
the hand really.
For infection to occur, the masseuse would
have to rub a fresh cut hand into your
fresh cut wound.
If you are worried, wait three months from
the point of supposed infection and then
get a HIV test for your peace of mind.
