Is it standard procedure to place a rod in
the femur when a patient complains of hip
pain? Would a healing femur fracture
cause hip pain? Also, after the rod surgery
is complete, if the leg heals with the
knee facing outward, what could have
possibly caused it?

I had scfe (slipped capital femoral
epiphysis) in both legs my hips were both
pinned. My right one was 4 yrs ago, the
left 2.5 yrs ago. My rigfht knee cap
faces out (not all the way) and my foot
goes with my knee. This has caused a lot
of knee pain. You should talk to your
doctor to find out more info.
