Q: Highs and lows

my male friend age 44 has had periods of times were he feels low .I tested his sugar and he was 67 is that normal? then later 150? what is up with that? My son is diebetic so I have a tester so I know about the symtoms.I don't want to freak him out but he should eat better lay of the coca cola and loose some waight.wwhat do you think?does a normal person have highs and lows?thanks sighned worried

The range of blood sugars that you describe are within normal range in most circumstances. Blood sugars can be as low as in the 50s in a fasting state. A 150 random blood sugars is also within normal limits.

If he is overweight, he is certainly at risk for associated problems with being overweight such as type 2 diabetes, cholesterol problems, or high blood pressure. I think any encouragement that you give him towards making changes in diet for a healthier lifestyle are important.
