Hello, thanks for the reply. I was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer by accident, I had actually pulled a muscle in my left shoulder and went to the hospital, they were just about to release me when a nurse who was attending noticed that I have a Scottish accent, when she asked if I was on an airplane recently I told her yes, that I had just returned from a trip "back home" she informed the emergency room doctor who was going to give me muscle relaxants and send me home that I just returned from Scotland so the doctor re-evaluated and decided to check me for a possible blood clot from the airplane, when all the tests came back that is when the diagnosis of Kidney Cancer came from, I was totally floored, unexpected, overwhelmed, so many emotions, I went for further tests that afternoon and it was determined that I had mets to my lungs, very small, they feel early detected, so I have now had my kidney removed, I have done 12 weeks of a trial drug called Torisel before my kidney was removed, and now I am having another 12 weeks since my kidney was removed, I am now on my 5th treatment, I had XRays and scans done and in no way is my sore back or my shortness of breathe lung cancer, I do not have lung cancer, I have kidney cancer that has spread to the lungs, two completely different organs, my lungs from the treatments are turning to liquid, which is what happens with this drug before they clear up, which I pray will happen ASAP, but for now I am just trying to deal with everything on a "One Day at a Time" as far as the back ache goes,, i believe it is because I am only 4 weeks post surgery from having my kidney out, but because of financial difficulties and to get in a better frame of mind, I decided to go back to work after the 3rd week of surgery, so I believe that it may have been too soon, I have a job that I am on my feet 8 hours x 6 days per week, and the day before surgery I also quit smoking, so the shortness in breathe may have something to do with that as well, I just want a doctor's opinion, my X-ray and CT scan all showed my mets are still there, and liquidified, and that may be the reason my lungs and breathing feels heavy, I will talk to my oncologist tomorrow, but until then I was just hoping for another doctor's opinion, thank you, Janice, Ont.
