Q: High TSH - Normal T4 & T3

Hi
I just received my thyroid test results and after much research I'm a little confused on how terrible I feel.

TSH 14.26
Free T3 - 1.9
Free T4 10.1

The Dr. said my TSH is high but my T3 & T4 are normal. So my understanding is that my body is getting enough of the thyroid hormones it's just the gland in my head working over time to make it so.

If I'm getting enough hormone, how come I"m depressed, tired all the time, aching muscles & joints, brittle nails and just over all crappy feeling.

My other concern is my blood pressure. It's always been low to normal and within the past week it's been creeping higher and higher. Today's reading was 175/109 and I have had a splitting headache since Sunday. Is this also because of the high TSH?

Last question .. LOL I do have a goiter, they didn't do an antibody test but if they do and it comes back positive for Hashimoto's could that be why I feel so crappy even with normal T3 & T4 levels?

Thank you to anyone that answers. I was started on a low dosage of meds but I'm afraid that maybe there could be something else wrong with me if I'm not suppose to feel this bad with normal T levels.

Thanks
Neeke

T4 & TSH Diagnostics
I'm 42 years old.

My Blood glucose,ECG,ESR & Lipid Profiles are in normal status. for the last few months I lost my weight in 5Kgs and encountered sweating even after a small work.

When these tests are done, I got follwing results;

TSH 2.68 ng/dL

T4 0.029 uUI/mL

Please advise me for further medication required before a consult a local endocrinologist.

Thank you!

Rejith

High TSH and Normal T3, Free T3
My TSH is down from 14 to 8.8. My T3 and Free T3 is normal and my T4 is at the low end of normal. I take GTA - pig T3. It seems like I have enough thryoid - based on T3 and T4 - so why is my pituitary working so hard?
