Hello. I recently went to an endocrinologist for a check-up on my thyroid. I had half of my thyroid removed 10 years ago, and I just wanted to make sure it was still working correctly.

Long story short, the TSH and T4 are normal, however, the Doctor also drew a CMP. The results show that my Total Protein is 8.5 g/dL and my Albumin is 4.2 g/dL. From this, would it be correct to assume that my Globulin is 4.3 g/dL, thus making my a/g ratio low? What would cause this?

CBC, Iron, Transferrin and the rest of the CMP tests all came back normal.

Thanks!
