I was up the GUM clinic last week they gave me antibiotics to treat Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and Chlamydia, the day after i got a phone call from one of the doctors up there and she told me to stop taking my antibiotics. I got blood tests done up there too and she told me my hormone level is high and has asked me to go up again this wednesday for more blood tests and a scan to see if i'm pregnant. What else could it be? Or am i pregnant?

Since you don't know which hormone level is high, I can only assume that the doctor was referring to your HCG level. The only time this is elevated is when a woman is pregnant or on fertility medication.

After a little searching, I found that pregnancy is not the only thing that can cause elevated HCG levels. Perimenopausal, postmenopausal and older women can sometimes have elevated HCG levels. There is also a type of cancer called Gestational Trophoblastic Disease that can raise HCG levels. And I found one instance where a woman with kidney failure had elevated HCG levels.

sounds like your pregnant !!
I have been trying to for a baby for 2 years now, and only recently went to the doctors. they took bloods and came back saying they were very high. indicating pregnancy but im not Sad my g.p has been lovely and has written to the hospital as he says this is a rare case and cos this hormone is high it makes it difficult to fall pregnant!!. if this was any higher he said i could even express milk. my husband and i ae desperate for a baby and im so disheartened. today a letter saying i am on a waiting list for gynaecology. does anyone know what the hell is going on with my body?? and what will happen at this appointment??
