Hey There,

I am a 19 year old female experiencing what seems to be a symptom of high cholesterol. I'm not quite sure what it's called, but small bags are starting to form not only under my eyes, but on my eyelids as well. My friend's mother, and one of my professors has the same thing. They tell me it is because of high cholesterol. First off, I'd like to ask if in fact that's true, and if there is anything I can do to get rid of it.

Thank You!

I'm nor sure what exactly you think when saying small bugs, but I assume you are talking either about swelling of your eyelids or about yellow growths located at both upper and lower eyelids, known as xanthelasma.
Xanthelasma are deposits high in fat, and occur mostly in people with high cholesterol levels.
If you are concerned about high cholesterol levels, it is good to get checked for your thyroid gland function, kidney function, diabetes, since these condition can be associated with abnormal cholesterol levels and obvious eyelids swelling.

Best wishes!
