Q: High bp and numbness related???

About 2 wks ago my left leg went numb. 4 days later I noticed my left arm had also started to go numb. they both remain numb/tingly now and hv very little strength. Last week I went for a smear and the nurse remarked that she couldn't do it because my bp was high. I was referred to one of the surgery gp's that evening and my bp was recorded at 165/110. Returned the following day and it was 163/112. I was put on Amlodipine 5mg. Yesterday my gp read my bp at 165/111 and my amlodipine dose has now been doubled. Could my numbness and bp be related? I am 32yrs,(f), 8st, 5'2" with 2 children 7 and 16yrs. I had high bp with my last pregnancy which was stabalized by bendrofluazide and i was taken off this after 4 yrs.

All replies appreciated. Thx for reading.
