I don't want TV every day, to be honest, I'd rather spend my time cleaning the house or enjoying my hobby's. But when I do watch TV, or even jump on the computer for a little bit, I feel sluggish, mental I feel exhuasted, my eyes ache and my blood pressure jumps up quite a bit. It really doesn't matter how I'm using the computer (surf the net, email, typing up things in Word...) or what I watch to TV (news, movies, tv shows...) I feel the same way each time. And it doesn't really matter how long either. After about 15-30 minutes, I start feeling that way.
I've looked at various things that I thought could be linked to it, such as eating. But the eating isn't consistent. At times I have eaten unhealthy foods, but I've really worked to keep those out of the house so that doesn't happen very often. Most of the time I don't eat anything when at the TV, and other times I'll grab a piece of fruit or left over veggies from dinner the night before.
I have noticed that the longer I sit, the higher my BP gets and the more tired I get. Is it simply that the screen is stressful for my eyes? Or the lack of exercise while watching tv? When I do watch tv, I often times try to do something else at the same time. Like do the dishes during commercials or sew while watching TV...but I still end up feeling the same way when I turn off the tube.
Any ideas? Is this common?

Are you taking your blood pressure or do you get the feeling that your blood pressure is increasing?

both. At first I could feel it but never actually thought to check it, then I started checking it.
it goes up about 10-15 points depending on how long I watch. It's only been recently that I started checking it so I don't know for sure if it goes up a specific amount for a specific time period, but I have noticed that the times I have checked it, that's about how much it goes up. Like I said, I don't watch tv very often, that's just what I've noticed the times I do watch tv.
