Ok, so I'm a 21 year old female and have been seeing my GP since about 13. At the age of 14, I started getting chronic back pain so I was sent off for blood tests, in which my ESR levels came back rather elevated (32 if I remember correctly?) and my ANA's at a level of 1:600. I was sent to a rheumatologist when I turned 15, to be given anti-inflammitories and the suspected possibility of lupus. There after, I didn't really return, and the pain subsided, I had other medical issues to deal with.
In september 2006, I had a rheumatoid form on my right pinky. It was there for one month. For that time, I had to get an x-ray to see what it was, didn't come back as anything. My ANA levels were tested at a level of 1:200.
November 2008, I started getting bad headaches, I couldn't step out into the sun without breaking out in heat rash and my jaw decided to start cracking. At one stage, the headaches got so bad that I was vomiting, which I NEVER do. I asked for a full blood test, got the results back to find several things, including high ANA's and ESR. I had been referred to an immunologist, whom I didn't get to see for 3 months after giving them the referral. In the meantime, before christmas last year, I had to go back to the doctors because of the headaches and pain. One doctor said by the looks of things, it would be lupus. The other doctor had a look at my blood test results to find low B12 levels. He figured I could have coeliac disease. So off for another blood test (which came back positive, but I never saw the specialist for it). I ended up seeing the immunologist in march 2009. He said I didn't have lupus or any other auto-immune disease. He ordered a bunch of blood tests, to which he gave the results to me a week later. My ANA's were high (1:600).
August 2009, I had a blood test last week, just for everything and a breath test (as I've been feelin uneasy in the stomach, came back positive with a stomach bug and low iron levels, despite the amount of red meat I have been consuming), my ANA's came back as a whopping 1:2080. My jaw dropped.
So, my question being... What is up with this?!
(Another problem as of late, my ankles and knees have been cracking and getting stiff as I walk. My wrists are also a tad sore and I have been having a tonne of numbness in my ligaments lately).
Thanks.
Lara.
