Help!! I have been having gallbladder pain for a month now pain or feeling of something sitting under rib cage raidating to my back and between shoulder blades wakes me up at night and sometimes causes chest pain with indigestion and bowel issues. My question is that my dr. ordered an ultrsound which came back normal however I had alot of pain when they had the wand on my gallbladder. Then last week Dr. ordered a hida scan. After much anticipation of the results the dr. said they came back normal. When I asked him about the percentage of ejection fraction he couldn't answer me and said that it wasn't reliable that I should follow up with a surgeon with more questions. I called the hospital and found out they it wasn't done without CCK. Doesn't that mean that he had no idea of the percentage of functioning because the reg. Hida just took more pics of my gallbladder? Help!! How was he suppose to know how well it was funtioning without the CCK??? In addition I'm still in pain and still have the agrivating gnawing pain that it feels something is just sitting there

In order to make the diagnosis of biliary dyskinesia, CCK must be given during a HIDA scan, and a gallbladder ejection must be calculated. You are correct in that if CCK was not administered during yoru HIDA scan, then it would not be possible to calculate a gallbladder ejection fraction.
