When I was diagnosed with Marfan's, earlier this year, the doctor mentioned that there was a very real possibility of a hiatial hernia. Ever since, whenever I visit my GP, he never really seems concerned about it.

I get a lot of "pinching" pains in my stomach area, sometimes below and sometimes above my diaphragm, which I mention to him and he just concludes "that would be the hernia".

Is there anything to be concerned about? The major possible side effect to this, is my eating habits as it is possible that my stomach pushes up into my chest, displacing the rest of my insides causing a feeling of being full when I haven't eaten or are just about to eat.

It does not bother me as much as it does my family. They are constantly badgering me, since childhood, to eat more but I just can't. I sometimes feel full just from smelling food. Othertimes, I would load my plate because I am just so hungry, just to find that I can't finish even half of the food.

I have been like this since I was small and seeing as I am still alive Wink it can't be that big a deal. They also say that it is normal for MFS patients to have a low BMI...but tell that to my family :D

Any opinions?
