is herpis 1 considered to be a sexual transmitted disease?
and once the blisters are gone would it be safe to continue oral sex with my partner?

Herpes 1 and herpes 2 are same virus with different sites of preference.
Although, lips are the site of preference for herpes 1, it could be found at genital organs, causing genital herpes, too.
It can be transmitted during oral sex (chances to get it are bigger when there is an active outbreak, and less, but, still possible to get the virus, when the herpes isn't active, but the virus is still shed)
