Hi,
I had low back injury and had a discectomy at the L5 levevl about 10 days ago. I suffered from sciatic pain in my left leg. Even after surgery, I still have sciatica.
After how many weeks does your sciatic pain go away? I'm 10 days post op and am still feeling numbness in leg. On top of it, because of the way I was placed on the operating table, my nerve at the left elbow (near funny bone) was affected so now have numbness and tingling in my forearm and fingers.
Can you or anyone let me know how you're doing and how you recovery process went? I'm very discouraged. Any advice or news would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jay

Jay, I had a partial discectomy/laminectomy in Oct 2000. I am unsure how long it took before I felt a significant reduction in pain, probably it was a month. It went away slowly. Them one day I walked out my front door and realized my leg didn't hurt.

It is a slow process. I know the older I get the slower it becomes. Try to not let it drag you down. Keep us posted.

The elbow ? That just has to drag you down. Hope that gets better quickly.
