Q: Herniated disc healing time ?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on April 10th, 2009
is it possible for a herniated disc to heal on its own?

if so how long aproximatly will this take?

is a chiropractor a trust worthy professional for a herniated disc?

what are some other methods if therapy fails to treating a herniated disc?

Your question involves disc herniations.

It is commonly known amongst manual medicine practitioners that disc bulges come and go, often times without symptoms. It is generally not understood exactly why some individuals experience the symptoms generally correlated to disc herniation, such as nerve pain down the buttocks and even legs, while some individuals don't.

Chiropractic, a system that has been around for around a century, has proved itself as a safe modality. There are specific chiropractic techniques for assisting individuals whom are suffering from disc herniations, and they can be very helpful in restoring the normal positioning and function of the spine.
