Im 27 years old in good shape had a hernia a year ago and havent had it since. Im supposed to go for surgery tomorrow but im not sure if it is necessary. Is there a chance it will not come back again? Should i have the surgery just to be safe? Is there another option?

Your option is to wait and see if it gets worse. If you elect to get it fixed stay away from mesh plugs, you will suffer horrible complications from it.
