I had a hernia repair with mesh 7 months ago and felt ok for strenuous activity. After having to haul 3 and half gallon buckets of water up stairs after a sump pump broke in my basement I am still feeling discomfort around my repair incision. It feels like it did before I had the repair. I thought that the mesh was suppose to end these problems. I don't think that I pushed it that hard but my symptoms have lasted two weeks. Could I have another hernia developing?

Hernia recurrence remains the most frequent complication in patients with hernia repair, even when the mesh is used.
