Q: Hepatitis B through Shrooms ?

Hi

My husband (after displaying symptoms of fevers, chills, general malaise and now jaundice) was diagnosed with Hepatitis B - it seems he is currently experiencing an acute infection.

I have tested negative. He vehemently denies having had sexual contact with anyone else (kissing, oral, penetrative sex or otherwise)and likewise denies having consumed drugs via an injection ever. However, he admits to having consumed Magic Mushrooms (Shrooms) - a recreational drug about two months ago.

1. Could this result in hepatitis B? I've read that Amatoxin-containing mushrooms can cause toxic hepatitis but is this the same as hepatitis B?

2. If he is suffering from an acute infection, what are the chances of him having this chronically?

Thanks so much for your valued input.
