Q: Helping mental fatigue

Despite having quite a regular sleeping pattern of 8 hours between 11-7 I tend to feel very drowsy in the afternoon and early evening.

Obviously stimulants are to be avoided, but is there anything natural and allowed that might help that temptation to nod off?

Thanks,

Hmmm, until you get back on track there is not too much you can do. Here are some things I recommend:

1. Increase your carbohydrate intake slightly the meal before you usually experience these symptoms (if you can manage to do that).

2. Eat some nuts (walnuts especially).

3. Try adding to your diet fish oil capsules. Look for a brand called Spectrum, they have a type made from 'small, wild caught fish.' Get it and try it. You can buy a smaller bottle at first, but it should help.

4. That being said, increasing your intake of fatty fish like salmon and tuna can help as well.
