Q: Help with TMJ

I have been suffering from brain fog for nearly 2 years and have it 24/7, a dream like state. My jaw clicks quietly when I open and close my mouth, and when I move it sideways it sometimes clicks out of place. I also have fullness in the ears.
I have been to a specialist who has done x-rays and my wisdom teeth which have not come through yet are pushing my front ones together as they try and get through. So I am having all four removed.
I think the x-ray showed a little gap between the disk on one side, and he basically said we will try seeing if it is the major things causing the problems like the wisdom teeth, and then work our way through the smaller things.
Has anyone been through a similar situation? What are the chances it is the wisdom teeth or some other TMJ problem... or something else altogether? And has anyone recovered from this sort of thing?
Thanks

age?
Pending on your age, it's best to go to other dentists who may specialize in the jaw-area. When I got my braces off in my teen years, I noticed the clicking on my right side but ignored it. Until it started hurting I told my mom and she brought me back to my orthodontist who was horrible! He recommended I get braces again, which my mom paid for, and the clicking went away. But, when I got my braces off, the clicking came back again.

Finally, after much time lost and finance, I went to my friend in dentist school to ask their profs. about my condition. Got a referral and such.

I currently visit a tmj specialist in Toronto where he has made a thicker retainer/splint that pulls my jaw forward to relieve the pressure and stress. Of course it's pricey as I am in my early 20s where I am no longer covered under my mom's insurance plan, but I am now feeling better with my appliance.
