Hi
my husband who is 48 went for xrays he also has emphysema the xrays showed a mass in his right lung and also another smaller lump/nodual...
he can't get to have a scan until the end of next week because they are booked out.
he has been more out of breath and has a dry cough, no energy but no weight loss. we just thought it was the emphysema getting worse, he has been feeling worse for months so i told him to go to the doctors...
i know no one can tell me for sure if its cancer but what are the chances it could be and does anyone know what the words on a xray report means
his xray said he has a well circumscribed round opcity with loulated outline, its says its non-calcified and there is another smaller 10mm nodular opacity in the right mid zone, its also says that the mass is in the right middle lobe
does anyone here know what all that means
i'm so worried,
and if its not cancer what could it be
also what are the symptoms of lung cancer and does a person with it usually loose weight in the begining
thanks

Ok, I did a little research on some of these words here. I was told that a nodular opacity could be a scar from an old illness, etc. Did he ever have a lung injury? It doesn't say anything about it being cancer. Also, a well circumscribed round opcity seems to be related to an infection. You might want to do some more research but this is what I found.
