Hello from KS

Hello everyone. Smile My name is Sarah and I joined this forum because I'm going to be going to college and have decided to get on a health kick. Razz I figure since so many other things in my life are changing (hopefully for the better) then why not my health habits.
So far I've started taking vitamins and fish oil; doing yoga, random YouTube workout videos and I'm going to start tai chi; cutting pop out of my diet (yikes!); and getting a stronger relationship with my God.
It's a start but I figure I'll eventually have questions and will want to get more advanced.

SO to start off: Anyone have any tips for a freshman college student with very little money?

Thanks and I can't wait to learn more. Smile

Hello, Saralydear. Welcome to ehealth forum.
It's been a while since I was away at college so I'm not sure how much help I can offer. One thing I know, living on campus makes college life more affordable in general. So, if you have the option, definitely consider dorm living. Also, on campus you have easier access to the school's gym, weight rooms, running track- all free. Unless things have changed drastically, dining in the cafeteria offers a wide variety of food and usually includes a salad bar, which is much healthier than ordering a pizza, for example. (Gotta watch that freshman 15!)
It sounds as though you are off to a great start to a new lifestyle. Best of luck and once again, welcome to ehealth forum.
