Q: Heavy period treatments

Hi,

I have very heavy periods and the docs have suggested:

1. Burning the inside of the womb
2. Removing the womb
3. Or the coil

Which would you recommend?

Which would have less side affects?

Ouch, ouch, and hm. I assume "the coil" is the copper coil IUD. That's not usually prescribed for reducing periods, as it can cause heavier periods in many women! The Mirena, however, can reduce the period. I'm sure that your doctor has some reason for suggesting the coil.

I'd go with the coil. It's the least painful and it's the only temporary option! If it doesn't work, then go on to more serious procedures.
