Q: heavy period during active pills

I was on Yaz for a month, but then I switched to Lutera a week ago without taking the inactive pills from the Yaz pack. So I've been on Lutera for 7 days and I just got my period yesterday. I was spotting for a couple days but now I have a normal, heavy period. What could cause this? It doesn't mean the Lutera has been ineffective this past week does it? I'm really scared, if anybody has any ideas I'd really appreciate it!

Normally that is your body's way of dealing with a new form, since you jumped straight into the new one without taking the sugar pills first. They recommend being careful until you get your peiod after taking a new type, so it is possible that the pill has been ineffective but highly unlikely since you didn't throw it up or anything. But anything is possible ... I fell pregnant whilst using contraceptio.
