I just got my period after not having it for a year and a half. Is this something that I should be worried about? It is very heavy. Is it normal for it to start up again? I am 53 years old.

Mkjrad, it is quite possible for that to happen. Our bodies can act pretty strange during the first few years of menopause. If it gets extremely heavy or does not stop, visit your doctor. If you have not seen your doctor since menopause started to have your hormone levels checked, you should anyways see him/her.
