I have been having heart pounding episodes for past 2 months and seems to be triggered by eating certain foods but this morning I woke up with pounding heart and skipped a beat a couple of times. I have had a stress test done and everything came back normal. Had an ultrasound done of gallbladder and found nothing. Not sure what to do next Wondering if its heart or gastro problem or something else. Could low or high blood sugar cause this have not been checked for that.
You don't mention your age or gender. I am not sure what your heart pounding episodes are. If you are feeling very strong beats, that could be related to some kind of rhythm disturbance. A stress test might not reveal the problem.
It sounds like you should have 24 or 48-hour Holter monitoring (electrocardiographic monitoring) and when the equipment is on you should do everything possible to bring on the "pounding episodes." Do discuss your continued symptoms with your doctor. By the way, I doubt that blood sugar is the culprit.
