My husband has kept a low grade fever (about 99.5) and is having heart palpitations and severe anxiety. He has a lot of air and sometimes belching helps the palpitations. His blood pressure is running about 140/88 and he is 26 years old. Lately, its become a really serious issue and we have been to doctor after doctor, and they can't figure out whats wrong. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? We are desperate for any leads. He does not drink caffeine, alcohol, etc. He has had an echocardiogram(?) and EKG and both have come back normal, so did his thyroid level.

Hi and Welcome to eHealth
Just wanted to welcome you to eHealth. I am not a pro nor do I claim to be. I do hope someone here can help you. Has your husband had a total physical with blood work? (Bloodcount/platelettes etc?) Is this a hereditary trait, does it run in his family? Any heart related problems within immediate family?Does he smoke? Is he overweight, does he eat healthy? Does he exercise? These are some of the questions you may be asked. I sure hope someone here can help you soon!

His grandfather and mother have mitrovalve prolapse but we have been told the echo ruled that out. He does eat healthy and exercises and he stopped smoking about three months ago when all of this started happening. He is not overweight. His father is diabetic but all of the doctors seem to think there is no reason to check his blood sugar.

Congrats to him for stop smoking! An accomplishment in itself. He could very well just have anxiety(lots of us do) and never know the reason for this. Maybe find another physican, and suggest bloodwork. I was not even thinking about bloodsugar, I was more in terms thinking of white/blood cell count. Not even sure why that has anything to do with anything..but you can bet they ask it form us once a year.I learned something this week...I do know he needs to get that 140 to about 130. TOok a friend of our for colonoscopy MOnday, the Dr told him the best heart rate was when the higher number was at or below 130?? SOmeting oyu might ask form a second opinion?
