One night about a week ago, I was at a shooting range with my friends, up at a higher altitude from where we live. We didn't really have it planned out, and this was my first time shooting, so we didn't have ear plugs. We made some makeshift ones out of cigarette filters, which seemed to block sound well enough. However, a friend of mine shot his pistol (not sure what kind, very loud) about a foot and a half from my ear before I could put them in. Everything seemed fine until I took the "ear plugs" out later that day. My right ear (the side the noise was closest to) felt like it was plugged up and needed to pop. I was also sensitive to sound. It is now a week later and my ear still feels as if it is plugged, but the sensitivity to sound has gone away...until I get tired. Any idea if I need to go to a doctor or if this should go away on its own?

Hi and Welcome
I would see a Dr. just to be sure. Since it hasn't gone away yet. Let us know how it turns out. Good Luck.
