Hello everyone Smile
I've been having trouble "diagnosing" whats actually wrong with my body. I'm typically a lazy girl but i participate in gym class at school, ocassional walks or jogs. I don't eat abnormally unhealthy, but hey! i'm a teenager. I don't drink soda's at all. Maybe once or twice on the weekend. and if i eat something EXTREMELY unhealthy its ice cream a few times a week. My parents are health freaks, and frill pretty much everything. So when they buy me snacks it's fibre bars or crispy minis. which aren't overly bad. at least i dont think so? But anyways, i live in a really small town of about 1300 people! so theres no such thing as a gym and those things are just to expensive to buy for the sake of what i'll use it. I have stubborn belly fat. but ONLY belly fat. My butt and hips are far from big and my breasts arent fatty either. I actually like my legs.. my thighs arent huge, nor are my calves. i have that "spare tire" you may hear people talk about. Just underneath my breasts my waist is small and tiny. But than its like a whole different world. I have gross belly fat and love handles, yet underneath all that fat i feel abs! Hard abs! What is going on! Why am i only gaining weight here? Why can't i get it off? How DO i get it off?
I believe hips make a womans waist looks smaller, so for all you ladies complaing.. CAN I HAVE SOME !?
All comments welcome! and thanks for reading!Smile

buy a pilates tape and do some excercises at home, these excercises focus on your core...also, to get rid of belly fat you should do some cardio..you dont need a gym to do this, go out for a quick run if you have extra time...though for it to be effective you need to do at least 30 minutes of cardio..get a daily routine goin, go for a morning jog or in the afternoon if your morning are busy..incorporate cardio with the pilates and you should see some results....dont forget to eat healthy or all that hard work isn't going to pay off

Well of course you're going to feel muscle-- there's muscle there! Wink
Swimming is really good for cardio.

Pilates is very nice for focusing on your core muscles. Planks with hip rotation is but one exercise you can do to work on those love handles.

Swimming is just plain awesome, remember force yourself to use your torso when doing so rather then just doing straight laps back and forth.

I don't know your diet as well, but it is probably the larger factor. Exercise is great, but what really matters is your diet and lifestyle.

My diet, for a teenager, i think is pretty healthy. I eat breakfast usually whole wheat bread with peanut butter and some orange juice or a bottle of water. When it comes to snacking, my parents buy "healthy" snacks..like the 'baked not fried' chips, which aren't wonderful for your body, but better than than regular fried kind. If i eat take out, it's usually just on weekends. For lunch and supper, i normally just eat whatever my parents cook. If it's southern fried chicken, we pair it with a light salad. If my mom cooks pasta, i have a smaller plate.

You're going to have to start having a daily workout other than gym class.

Try running or power walking for a half hour (especially if you can't get to a swim pool), then follow that with a small pilates workout.

As for your diet, make sure you drink plenty of water. You could substitute potato chips for something like fruits or vegetables, but potato chips aren't bad as long you eat them in moderation Wink

pilates and "core" exercises will nto help. Its all diet. I suggest low carb high protein diet with 1-2 days a week having good carbs such as oatmeal, berries, sweet potatoes and brown rice. otherwise eat you bodyweight in protein and eat green veggies witht htem. Give it some tie too. Hit the weights hard and cardio up 5 minutes each week.

health diet
I run half an hour, but it is probably the larger factor. Exercise is a great thing and help other people in their life.

Belly fat and what to do with it.
Hey,

I agree with a lot of the other people here who say to have regular exercise and weight training. Eating healthy is great but what I really recommend is watching what you eat! What do you eat? Think about it. Do you eat more of something than another? Do you drink alcohol?

A lot of the time belly fat is either animal fat or beer belly. Do you eat a lot of pork, red meat, refined carbs (white bread/pasta/bagels/cake), high fat cheese or butter? That may be it. If it's not your diet, maybe it's genetics?

Do some simple 30 min. cardio everyday and work your abs only every other day and see the difference! Also this may sound silly but try holding in your stomach as a habit, just by doing this it engages your core. Let me know how it goes. Go on to you tube to find free Abdominal (stomach) exercises.
