Q: Healthy baby after Cesarian section

I gave birth to my 2nd Daughter on the 30th of march 2008 (one day early lol) by an emergency cesarian.I went in to hospital about 9:00am after my contractions started about 6:30am,I had an epidural staight away and I was pushing for 2 hours when they told me that Skyla's head was facing up and it was tilted so her forehead was banging against my pelvis.they then said i had to have an emergency cesarian...then at 12:30pm my beautiful Skyla Grace was born weighing 6lb 12oz (very tiny).I came home 2 days later after refusing a blood transfusion (very stupid) ,as i lost way more blood than i should have done.then the day after that my partner Mike took me back in so i could have a blood transfusion as i collapsed.my iron level was only 7.6 so i was silly not to have had it done in the first place.Anyway home again now and enjoying my newborn and Raven Iris is enjoying her little sister too.

sounds like a crazy night and a half though!
But the important thing is that the baby is healthy, and so are you Smile

I'm sorry it was so rough though Crying or Very sad

Isn't it amazing how fast they can get them out in an Emergency?! How did you come home after two days?! I had a cesarean the 9th and I still can hardly walk!

thanks KrystineM, yeah both healthy now lol....very tired though....my iron level was at 10 when leaving the hospital the second time (after blood transfusion) will it drop again or should i carry on taking iron tablets????? do you know????????

thank you Lilly Ivy....wierdly i have recoverd amazingly this time round....when i gave birthto my first Daughter vaginally i had terrible stitches that even burst open the next day and i couldnt walk for weaks...this time round the midwifes had me up and having a shower (which i needed lol) the very next morning.my scar is so neat and it doesnt hrt much at all.

im not very sure, but if your iron level is still pretty low, i would not stop taking the tablets. But i dont think im the best person to ask about that. sorry

thanks ingi, i was just wondering as i wasnt sure if my doctor would check my iron again now i have had the blood transfusion...but i guess he would have to.
