Q: Health Insurance Florida

Hi,

I'm looking for health insurance for my wife's 7-year old daughter. My wife has insurance at work (Blue Cross Blue Shield) but her dad is self employed and has no insurance. What would be a good company to try to insure her, that is not too expensive?

Your needs are unique!

Hire a good insurance agent that works with multiple companies.

After spending some time with you to understand your particular needs, they will help you purchase the plan that's right for you.

One factor to consider: Insurance rates are filed with the department of insurance. No one, not even the insurance company direct, can charge you more or less than anyone else.

Can your wife add her daughter onto her insurance as a dependent? Also most states have children insurance plans. Dial 211 for the Childrens' Trust in Florida.

Need Health Insurance
Need Health Insurance. Confused by rates. the reply below says rates are the same. But I see all different rates. Rates are cheaper at group health insurance if we buy thru Sam's Club, or Costco, much cheaper than the same health plan purchased on your own as an individual. But the Sam's & Costco plans are limited to just a few health plans or only certain states.

Also, all health insurance companies we have called are very rude. I never had so much trouble trying to spend money. Whats up with that?

We have insurance companies ask us to call the doctors to fax medical forms, the doctors office faxes the forms, then the health insurance company said they never receive them. And we go back & forth. The health insurance companies like HealthNet just lie and lie.

Just looking for a Consumer Reports type health insurance directory, that is not owned by any health insurance corporation, with honest surveys, and opinions about each health insurance plan. I want to read the good, the bad and the ugly and personal reviews from people who have that health insurance. So I can make the right decision. Is there anything like this out there?

I have called several health insurance agents, but they never call back. Apparently commissions in health insurance is so high and they are so busy with so much business, they are too lazy to call you back. The economy doesn't seem to be hurting the health insurance companies, as they apparently can afford to be rude.

I am healthy, non smoker, perfect weight to height ratio, do not drink, walk every day, work out at the gym a few days a week and have a dog for fun & happiness. Remember people with pets are healthier.

But cannot seem to get health insurance. Go to the doctor very little, except for flu mostly, all tests have always been negative, no cancer or diseases. My spouse is 35 pounds over weight, but other then that, healthy and working out too, and the rest of the above is the same.

Would like to buy individual health insurance for each of us. With $5,000 deductible as we are healthy and don't go to the doctor much. Have seen prices around $123 a month with unlimited doctor visits, co pays, etc.

Or is a Major Medical Plan better & cheaper?

Then just need to find a good health insurance company?
