healing a broken humeres

Mom is 89 years old and today fell and broke her humerous. She is in relatively good health otherwise, but has been told that they will wait til tuesday three days from now, to see if she wants surgery, which is very risky at her age, or let it try to self heal.
If she decides to go for the self heal route, what are the average healing times for this type of break???...
