One of the subtypes of headache is vasospasm headache. It is caused by contraction of the small muscles in the arterial walls that narrows the arteries. This subsequently reduces the blood flow in the affected part of the body. The lack of oxygen is most easily felt in the head, where headache, dizziness, and a sense of fatigue might be detected. The vasospasm might be caused anxiety or stress that would additionally explain the correlation between the tachycardia (faster heart beats) and the vasospasm that caused the headache. If this is the real cause for your headache, effective relaxation methods might help you to decrease the intensity of the headache or even completely remove it.

You might want to visit your family doctor for a physical examination. He might want to refer you to a neurologist to rule out other more serious conditions. Visiting a cardiologist might also be recommended to check if the stress or the anxiety might be causing damage to the heart and to prevent one.

Psychotherapy might be a good choice to learn to cope with the conditions that might have caused the stress and anxiety.
